Step 1
Using the Rounded Rectangle Tool draw a shape similar to above ( the color does not matter ).
Step 2
Right click the layer and select Blending Options. From this palette you can select gradient and create a gradient similar to what we have here.
Step 3
Your result should resemble above.
Step 4
Create a small dark Outer Glow and create a Stroke of 1px and make the opacity 0 so that the background shows through.
Step 5
Select the layer you are on, right click and Select Layer Transparency.
Step 6
Select >> Modify >> Contract about 3px and with that selection create a New Layer and simply use a half transparent gradient to create this look above.
Step 7
Lower the opacity on the layer you just created to around 50% to give it the glazed over look.
Step 8
Doing a similar thing as the last step create a gradient coming from either side.
Step 9
Set the Blending Mode for the layer to Overlay and lower the opacity.
Step 10
Add some text and a few details and you've got yourself a glossy button!
